Melbourne Victory will be looking to bounce back from their second loss of the season on Saturday as they face Beaumaris in Melbourne’s Bayside suburbs.
Two goals in the opening 20 minutes consigned Victory to the loss against GV Suns in Shepparton last week as the home side hit early before holding off Joe Palatsides’ side.
Despite the result, Victory maintained their three-point buffer at the top of the NPL3 table with North Sunshine sitting in second position with Nunawading one point further in third.
This round marks the halfway point of the campaign with Victory opening the season against Beaumaris in March with a 3-1 win at Epping Stadium. It was Jordi Valadon, Tommaso Minutoli and George Karvounis who secured the 3-1 win in Round 1.
The newly-promoted side sit in eighth position with a 2-3 record in the last five in the competition and are five points away from the relegation zone.
Akshat Singh is their top scorer this season with five goals and will be their player to watch.
The Under 20’s will look to bounce back from their first loss of the season as they travel with the Senior side to Beaumaris.
