Melbourne Victory can advise that Andrew Nabbout will miss this Saturday’s Round 4 Hyundai A-League match against Western United due to a hamstring injury.
Nabbout was substituted in the 33rd minute of Friday’s 1-0 win over Brisbane Roar as a precaution to avoid further damage.
General Manager Football Operations, Paul Trimboli said it was a disappointing result for Nabbout and the team after a win on the road.
“It’s a real shame particularly as Andrew has had a strong beginning to his season and is a starting player,” said Trimboli.
“He has undertaken scans today and at this stage we expect Andrew to miss several weeks.
“We’ll manage his recovery now week-by-week – keeping in mind the length of the season – to ensure he is 100% fit when he returns to the pitch.”
Further updates on Nabbout’s injury progress will be provided over the coming weeks.
