Award-winning Newbon stays at Victory

Melbourne Victory is pleased to announce that Courtney Newbon has re-signed.

The 25-year-old goalkeeper, an ever-present force in the A-Leagues last term when she was named Ninja A-League Goalkeeper of the Year, has signed for what will be her third full season at the Club.

Following ALW action in New South Wales and Western Australia, the shot-stopper joined Victory in January 2024 and has since played 62 times for Jeff Hopkins’ team, notably setting a Club record clean sheet tally of 11 in 2024/25, as the Girls in Blue reached the Grand Final.

Melbourne Victory Director of Football, John Didulica, commented:

“Courtney brings a steadying presence to the team, and we have seen her value recognised by teammates and peers across the game in Australia.

“She played every minute of last season, establishing herself as a senior player in the group, and recently turned out for the A-League All Stars, so we are happy to be extending her time at Melbourne Victory.”

Newbon said:

“It is great to be continuing my career here at the Club, somewhere that feels like home and has already given me so much.

“I am determined to keep improving and contributing more for the team and our supporters, building on what this group has previously achieved.”
