“It’s a big game, we’re really looking forward to that,” Berisha said.
“I think we were very unlucky last Saturday but our performance was good. Everything that was asked from the boys, we did.
“I’m very confident we can (bounce back), we have a great team.”
Berisha has made a habit out of thriving in important games, and a Melbourne Derby is always one of those.
“Derbies are very special, special to me and special to the supporters.
“Games like this, you have to be ready. It’s a special game.
“One thing is for sure, we are fit, we are strong and we are very confident going towards this game.”
James Troisi and Mark Milligan have returned from international duty and the Socceroos’ thrilling victory over Syria, and Berisha is happy to have the duo back.
“We’re talking about fantastic players, they are missed here for sure,” Berisha said.
“They have great ability, they are great players and we need them.
“James and Millsy are very important to us and we’re happy to welcome them back.
“We’ll have to see how they pull up after the big game, but everyone wants to play this special game.”
In the absence of Troisi, Milligan and Kosta Barbarouses for the season opener, several Victory youngsters played important minutes, and Berisha was impressed with their performances.
“They (the youngsters) worked really hard and they kept trying to look after me and find me.
“We were a little bit unlucky up front, we couldn’t get the right touch or the right cross to score a goal. I can not complain.”
