Melbourne Victory visit Brisbane Roar in Matchweek 4 of the Ninja A-League.
The Girls in Blue fly interstate this weekend, looking to beat their hosts and continue their unbeaten beginning to the season at Gioca Stadium on Saturday, November 7, kick-off 5pm AEDT.
Victory earned their second win of 2026/27 last Sunday, defeating Newcastle Jets 1-0 thanks to a Sienna Saveska strike in part two of an A-Leagues Men’s and Women’s double-header at AAMI Park, whilst the Roar were on the wrong end of the identical scoreline against Sydney FC 24 hours earlier.
Supporters can watch all the action from Queensland live on Paramount+, as Jeff Hopkins faces off on the touchline with his former assistant, Jonathan Clemente.
The Girls in Blue
Melbourne Victory backed up a couple of solid showings on the road at Western Sydney Wanderers and Wellington Phoenix by putting on a professional display to win their home opener.
Sienna Saveska’s first goal for the Club split the teams in Victoria, with the attacking midfielder reacting to Anna Sutter’s intervention on the edge of the box and catching the Newcastle Jets out by taking the chance early on her non-preferred right foot.

The 1-0 scoreline suggested a tighter contest than any reasonable eye test provided, particularly in the context of quality chances created, as Sophie Harding’s polite finish let slip an opportunity to put the home team two ahead at half-time before Captain, Kayla Morrison, hit the post during the second 45.
A goal for the skipper at the North End would have been the icing on the cake for Jeff Hopkins and co., but the former defender and centre-back Morrison, the lynchpin of a thus far unchanged defensive unit, will have no doubt enjoyed recording a second clean sheet of the season.

Last time out
Melbourne Victory made sure that home comforts counted on Sunday evening, defeating Newcastle Jets by a single goal at AAMI Park.
Sienna Saveska’s moment of artistry split the sides on Matchweek 3, with the 20-year-old showing excellent attacking nous to sense an opening was coming her way before accurately picking out the bottom corner.
Both Kayla Morrison and substitute Nicki Flannery threatened to double the advantage, but a second counter would not be required as the visitors failed to challenge recent Matilda call-up Courtney Newbon in the Victory net.
Brisbane Roar remain pointless in the Ninja A-League after falling to a home loss versus Sydney FC last Saturday.
The Sky Blues, who peppered the home side’s goal throughout the contest, should have led in the first half when an unmarked Riley Cohn put Kiley Dulaney’s cross off target.
Then, as Roar goalkeeper Chloe Lincoln continued to perform heroics beyond the hour mark, it seemed the points would be split until American attacker Faith Webber, captaining Sydney, collected Maddie Caspers’s through ball and finished sharply.
