Bunge and Candy named in NZ Ferns Squad

Melbourne Victory is proud to confirm that Claudia Bunge and Geo Candy have been named in the Ford Football Ferns squad to represent New Zealand in the upcoming FIFA Window in Costa Rica.

Bunge, a dual-Championship winner, is now in her fifth season and has made 59 appearances for Melbourne Victory, playing an important role at the heart of the side’s defence.

Bunge also previously featured for her nation at the 2023 FIFA Women’s World Cup.

Teammate Geo Candy will be making their senior international debut during the February FIFA window. The young goalkeeper is in their second season with Victory, and has previously represented New Zealand as a Youth International where they were part of the bronze medal winning team at the 2018 FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup.

The Ford Football Ferns will play international friendly matches against Costa Rica (FIFA rank 43) on Sunday 23 February at 1pm NZT and Wednesday 26 February at 11am NZT.

Both games will be played at Estadio Alejandro Morera Soto in Alajuela, Costa Rica.
