What a weekend! That’s the best way for me to sum it up. It gave myself and the Board of Directors a great deal of pleasure when we advised all of our members and fans that Harry Kewell will be playing for Melbourne Victory next season in the Hyundai A-League.

We-d like to thank you all for your patience and we know you-re ecstatic about the end result. The signing of Harry Kewell is for our members, our fans, our partners and for the future of our great club.
As I said on Saturday, we believe this is the biggest player signing in the history of Australian sport and we expect this to create unprecedented interest in the game, as well as our club, and we-ll no doubt see this through a large spike in our membership numbers and fan attendance at our games. The phones are running hot and we encourage everyone to either renew or purchase their memberships and get on board as Melbourne Victory takes the next step in 2011/12.
