Melbourne Victory’s Men and Women are both on the road this weekend, as Saturday looms as a double away day. Here are the points to take note of.
Victory’s Men and Women will take to the pitch at 6:00pm (AEDT) as our boys in blue take on Newcastle and our girls in blue face Brisbane.
A first trip to Newy.
Tony Popovic’s side travel to Newcastle for the first time this season as our boys in blue look to continue their unbeaten streak.
Last time out against the Jets it was the Bruno Fornaroli show after the star striker scored four goals.
Zinedine Machach has stepped up in the Socceroos’ absence and will be looking to get on the scoresheet once again.
Since our last meeting, the Jets have only won four matches and currently sit 10th on the Isuzu UTE A-League table.
Looking for redemption.
Our girls in blue will be out for redemption on Saturday night after falling to the Brisbane Roar at home to open the Liberty A-League season.
The Roar walked away from the Home of the Matildas with all three points after going 0-2 early.
Since then, our Jeff Hopkins’ side has faired the better of the two and sits five points above Brisbane on the Liberty A-League table.
After a run of defeats, Victory’s women are now three games unbeaten as they look to break back into the four and cement their spot in the finals.
