We look at the key moments from the 2017/18 Hyundai A-League season that shaped our run to the 2018 Championship.
In hindsight, the decision to extend Kevin Muscat’s contract by two years back in March was a masterstroke.
But at the time, after Victory’s up-and-down season, the reaction to the news was mixed.

Victory Chairman Anthony Di Pietro was adamant that Muscat was the man for the job and his faith ultimately paid off.
“Kevin has shown that he’s an excellent coach and we’re delighted to secure him for the next two seasons,” Di Pietro said.
“This process involved a considered review of the football department, to ascertain ways in which we can not only improve, but also deliver better outcomes and give us the best chance to achieve sustained success.”
Muscat rallied his troops and timed his run to the Championship to perfection.
Victory won eight of its last 10 Hyundai A-League matches, including the Grand Final against Newcastle to secure the club’s fourth Championship.
