Melbourne Victory has extended its lead atop the E-League table with a 12-7 win over Perth Glory to stay unbeaten this season after four rounds.
Filling in for regular PlayStation competitor Sarge Singh, Ben Carter won both of his matches while Mo Zwed took out the first game on XBOX but narrowly fell short in the second as the E-League returned to action following the international break.
Ben scored his first E-League goal in under 10 minutes of game time in the first leg.
It would remain the only goal of the match to give Victory the points.
Across the room, Mo continued his good form with an explosive start before Perth mounted a late comeback. It was not enough however as Mo held on to win 5-3 and give Victory a 6-3 aggregate lead.
Mo and his opponent traded goals in the second leg, with Perth eventually claiming the win 4-3. Ben had no such trouble on the PlayStation as he recorded a 3-0 win to give Victory early bragging rights heading into this week’s Hyundai A-League clash.
Victory will take on last season’s champions Sydney FC in Round 6 of the E-League next Thursday night.
