Melbourne Victory attended the Footy Fans Down Under (FFDU) Awards on Friday 25 May. FFDU Awards were created to provide supporters with the chance to recognise the hard work and efforts of fan groups and individuals and thank them for their ongoing contribution to football.
Melbourne Victory and its fans received ‘Supporters Club of the Year- award, which the Blue and White Brigade dedicated to the active support from the Northern and Southern terrace.
Melbourne Victory Women-s Stephanie Catley took home ‘Female Footballer of the Year- while ‘Football Stadium of the Year- went to Melbourne Victory-s Matchday Experiences at AAMI Park and Adam Tennenini took home ‘Football Supporter of the Year-.
The awards are voted on by the fans and it is a great chance to get an insight into the views of the supporters.
Melbourne Victory-s kit manufacturer, adidas, also took home the ‘Football Merchandise Brand of the Year- award.
General Manager, Operations, Trent Jacobs, said ” We make no secret of the fact we believe our fans are the best in the country. We also believe that what they bring to our games is a different and unique experience compared to other sporting codes in this country.”
