Melbourne Victory has signed ten players that will form part of its 2013/14 Foxtel National Youth League side.

Coach Darren Davies and his team will get their campaign underway this Saturday against Brisbane Roar away from home, as they look to defend the title the club took home after an impressive 2012/13 season.

Davies said he was looking forward to seeing the new squad rise to the challenge.

“We aim to produce players that are ready to compete at the highest level and last season we were delighted to see the promotion of several of Youth League players to the senior side, with Nick Ansell, Jordan Brown, Andrew Nabbout and Connor Pain each earning senior contracts,” Davies said.

“This season, we have a younger squad, but we’re still have high expectations and are looking forward to seeing the young lads develop into first team players here at Melbourne Victory.”

The ten contracted players for the 2013/14 Foxtel National Youth League are:
John Buceto – 18, forward
Keegan Coulter – 18, goalkeeper
Christopher Cristaldo – 18, forward
Anthony Duzel – 16, midfielder
Luc Jeggo – 19, midfielder
James Karvelis – 18, defender
Damien Miskulin – 17, forward
Dylan Murnane -18, defender
Anthony Proia – 19, forward
Milos Ridesic – 17, defender
Gian Tapia – 18, goalkeeper

This season, the Melbourne Victory NYL boys will play their matches at Lakeside Stadium in Albert Park – beginning with the Round 2 match against AIS on Sunday, November 3 at 2.30pm.
