Melbourne Victory has agreed to release midfielder Isaka Cernak, effective immediately.

Cernak, 23, joined Melbourne Victory in 2011 and made 21 senior appearances for the club, including four in this current Hyundai A-League 2012/13 season.

Coach Ange Postecoglou thanked Cernak for his contribution to Melbourne Victory Football Club.

“Isaka has been a total professional during his time here at Melbourne Victory, but unfortunately things haven-t worked out for him as he-d have liked,” Postecoglou said.

“We wish him all the best for the future.”

Cernak, who scored twice during his stay in Melbourne, said, “I made some great friends at Melbourne Victory and it-s sad to be leaving, but I-d like to thank the club for the opportunities they gave me and I wish everyone well for the rest of the season and beyond.”

“I haven-t featured too often this season so I need to explore other opportunities to continue my development as a player” Cernak added.
