PREVIEW

Our boys in blue will be looking to break free from a six-match winless streak when they face Western United on Tuesday night.

The opponents, Western United, come into the match buoyed by a recent 2-0 triumph over Newcastle Jets, breaking their own winless streak.

It was a 1-2 loss last time out against Western at AAMI Park, and captain Roderick Miranda said the team is ready to “bounce back” after a tough few weeks.

“I think it’s a good time to try and bounce back with the less than positive result on the weekend. So it’s another opportunity for us to try and change the momentum of the team,” Miranda told media on Monday.

“Everybody’s really positive to try and change the momentum and we’re sure the fans are feeling the same as us.

“But we are working hard daily to try to change this momentum and hopefully tomorrow we can.

“We need to be humble enough to understand that we need to do better and we know that. And tomorrow is another opportunity to try to break this winless streak and bring home the three points.”

Speaking on Western United, Roddy said despite their position on the table, he won’t be taking them lightly.

“I think Western’s position on the table at this moment doesn’t show the potential of the team,” he said.

“Every game against us, every team lifts a little bit more. We know that they will lift against us so we just need to make sure that we’re stronger than them.

“We need to be aware that Western has a really good team, really good players and it’s always a tough game against them.”
