Our girls in blue are three matches undefeated after starting the season with two losses and are looking to secure another three points to solidify their spot in the top four.

Jeff Hopkins’ side face a Central Coast Mariners side looking to break into the top four after a mixed start to the season.

Another strong extended squad has been named ahead of round six with Beattie Goad, Lia Privitelli, Laura Pickett and Annabelle Yates all joining the list.

Emily Gielnik and Emma Checker both remain unavailable.

Mariners Head Coach Emily Husband has named an unchanged squad from the one that defeated Wellington Phoenix 1-0 last weekend, with a strong side heading down to The Home of the Matildas.

On Emma Checker and Emily Gielnik…

“With the break coming up, I’m hoping that they’ll both be there or thereabouts.”

“Em (Gielnik) has had a really positive couple of days and she’s been a lot more positive about about being back earlier”

“Emma’s getting some massive volume in this week, so she’s worked really hard.”

On the Mariners…

“I’ve been impressed.”

“They’ll give us a few problems in terms of certain players in certain positions that we haven’t come up against so far this season, so it’s going to be a real good test for us.”
