Listen as Victory’s Duncan dials into 3aw

Melbourne Victory’s Jack Duncan hit the airwaves, joining 3AW’s Sports Today on Thursday night.

Fresh from his Hahn Australia Cup heroics, the 33-year-old goalkeeper chatted to hosts Jimmy Bartel and Laura Spurway about his role in the Club’s penalty shootout win over Western Sydney Wanderers.

He saved three spot kicks at Marconi Stadium to secure Victory’s place in the Quarter-Final, which will take them back to New South Wales for a tie against APIA Leichhardt on Wednesday, August 19, kick-off 7:30pm AEST.

The success was a first with A-League Men’s Head Coach, Giovanni Savarese, on the touchline, and his chosen ‘keeper for the tie gave an appraisal of the new boss.

Jack Duncan re-signed for Melbourne Victory during the off-season.

Speaking to 3AW, Duncan discussed the Venezuelan’s manner and talked about his initial tactical adjustments.

“He’s been really good for us, day by day, putting in the work. He’s a great person, comes across really well, seems like he is going to be a really good manager, and that is what we need battling out three different competitions this year.”

Duncan added: “So far it has just been small tweaks, playing a similar formation this year, but just some tweaks within that. We have still kept a few of the backroom staff that were here over the last couple of years as well, so they have still got their input.”
