Victory’s Rai Marchan is adjusting to life in Melbourne and preparing for a new chapter in his career as a central midfielder.
Marchan arrived in Victoria last week and is regaining his fitness following a period in quarantine.
Melbourne
“I’m very excited to be here and excited for what is about to come,” said Marchan.
The Spaniard is one of ten signings made by Head Coach Tony Popovic, as Victory continues to assemble a new-look squad for the 2021/22 A-League season.
“Everybody has been very nice – all of my teammates and coaches.
“When you are new in a city and a club, it’s nice to be welcomed – not only from the other players and coaches but also from our members and fans.”

Midfield
The 28-year-old believes he will provide balance and in-game leadership to the middle of the park when Victory’s season gets underway.
“My passing, short passing and control are my best skills and I think that I am a player that is able to understand the game,” he said.
“I will bring balance to the team and I aim to be a leader from midfield.”
Teammates
Marchan, who joins Josh Brillante, Jake Brimmer, Leigh Broxham and Jay Barnett as options in midfield, is focused on regaining fitness and building chemistry with the squad ahead of Round One.
“The most important thing for me is to adapt,” he said.
“Adapt to the country, the city, the club and to my teammates.
“After that I need to get fit and be in the best possible condition; ready for the start of the A-League.”
