Melbourne Victory is pleased to announce the re-signing of goalkeeper Casey Dumont for the next two Liberty A-League seasons.
The 2022 A-League Women’s Goalkeeper of the Year and 2022 Grand Final Player of the Match will return to the Club for her fourth season with Victory, looking to win her fifth A-League Women’s title.
Her incredible bounce-back season came after an Achilles injury curtailed her 2020/21 campaign and Dumont’s return to the A-League Women’s competition saw her excel in all aspects, leading the side with six match-winning saves in the Grand Final win against Sydney FC.
Melbourne Victory Director of Football, John Didulica said Casey’s hard work and determination to not only return to the pitch but be the best goalkeeper in the league set an example for all in the team to follow.
“We’re incredibly pleased to have Casey back for another two seasons at the Club,” Didulica said.
“Last season was an incredible season for the team and specifically Casey and we believe she will continue to push herself and those around her to achieve more success.
“Her talent was there for everyone to see last season and we’re thrilled to have an experienced goalkeeper like her in our ranks to lead the team and win everything that’s in front of us this season.”
Dumont was also looking forward to building upon the foundations laid last season.
“I can’t wait to get back to the pitch and to continue to work hard and win games with this incredible group,” Dumont said.
“I’m not resting on my laurels this season, I want to achieve more at Melbourne Victory and I’m determined to work every day on reaching the goals we set out at the start of the season.”
Dumont will be joined by Miranda Templeman in the goalkeeping ranks and follows the signing of Jessika Nash and re-signing of Tiff Eliadis as the Club continues to announce its squad for the upcoming season.
