Melbourne Victory is pleased to announce the re-signing of forward Catherine Zimmerman for the 2022/23 Liberty A-League season.
The American returns for her third consecutive season at the Club, looking to add a three-peat of Championships to her accolades in the A-League Women’s.
Zimmerman’s 2021/22 season saw her take out the Club’s Golden Boot with seven goals, including the winning goal in the Grand Final against Sydney FC, and the 28-year-old is looking to pick up where she left off with another season in navy blue.
Melbourne Victory Director of Football, John Didulica said Zimmerman has been one of the stand-out performers in the competition over the past two seasons.
“We’re glad to be able to welcome Catherine back for another season at Victory,” Didulica said.
“Every season she has had in Australia, she has improved incrementally, whether that be in the NPLW competition or in the A-League Women’s, and we’re looking forward to what she has to offer this season.”
Zimmerman was also excited to continue her time in Australia with Victory.
“I’m stoked to be back with this Club and with this group for another season as we look to continue to build something special at Melbourne Victory,” Zimmerman said.
“The faith Jeff and the Club have put in me over the past two seasons has allowed me to excel as a player and I’m looking to return the favor with more results on the pitch this season.”
Zimmerman is the Club’s fifth re-signing of the 2022/23 pre-season, joining Tiff Eliadis, Casey Dumont, Claudia Bunge and Lia Privitelli as well as new signings, Jesskia Nash, Miranda Templeman, Gema Simon, Natalie Tathem and Beattie Goad.
