Melbourne Victory re-signs Jake Brimmer

Melbourne Victory re-signs Jake Brimmer

Melbourne Victory is pleased to announce the re-signing of midfielder Jake Brimmer for the next two and a half seasons.

The 23-year-old joined the Club at the start of the 2020/21 season, making 37 appearances across all competitions and has found the back of the net seven times during his time at Victory.

After an impressive start to the 2021/22 season, the Melbourne-born midfielder has registered three assists in seven matches thus far and has flourished under Tony Popovic, signing on with the Club until the end of the 2023/24 season.

Melbourne Victory Director of Football John Didulica said Brimmer has established himself as one of the Isuzu UTE A-League Men’s stand-out midfielders over his past 12 months at Victory.

“We’re incredibly pleased to secure Jake for the next two seasons,” Didulica said.

“Jake has showed an exemplary attitude on and off the park and his ability across the midfield speaks for itself.

“We are building a core group who have a promising future and Jake is certainly one of those players. We want to continue to develop players like Jake to ensure our shared success.”

Brimmer was also thrilled to re-commit to the Club, saying he’s focused on building upon his impressive form for Melbourne Victory.

“I’m excited to be continuing my journey with Melbourne Victory and look forward to being part of the exciting new chapter of the Club,” Brimmer said.

“I’ve enjoyed being back in Melbourne and playing in front of my family, friends and our incredible fans every week and to continue to work with the impressive group of players and coaches at the Club is an exciting prospect.”

Brimmer’s re-signing is the second announcement of the January transfer period after the Club announced earlier on Wednesday the signing of midfielder Luka Prso.
