Melbourne Victory is pleased to announce the re-signing of forward Lia Privitelli for the 2022/23 Liberty A-League season.
The Club stalwart returns for her seventh season at Melbourne Victory after coming off her best campaign in navy blue, scoring five goals in her 16 appearances.
Privitelli also wore the captain’s armband in Kayla Morrison’s absence throughout 2021/22, leading the side to back-to-back Championships, having played a crucial role in the side’s Finals campaign.
Melbourne Victory Head Coach, Jeff Hopkins said he was thrilled to be able to call upon Privitelli once again this season.
“I’m incredibly pleased to have Lia back for another exciting campaign,” Hopkins said.
Her capabilities as a leader and a footballer came to the fore last season as we worked through incredible adversity on and off the pitch to achieve the ultimate success.
“Lia has continued to grow and develop as a person and a player at Melbourne Victory and we’re excited to be able to see more from her this campaign.”
Privitelli was also looking forward to another season at Victory.
“I’m excited to be back with this incredible group and driven to achieve more success this season,” Privitelli said.
“Last year was a stand-out season for me and I’m looking to build upon that and bring home our third consecutive title.”
Privitelli is the Club’s fourth re-signing of the 2022/23 pre-season, joining Tiff Eliadis, Casey Dumont and Claudia Bunge as well as new signings, Jesskia Nash, Miranda Templeman, Gema Simon and Natalie Tathem.
