Melbourne Victory is pleased to announce the re-signing of Lleyton Brooks and Jay Barnett until the end of the 2022/23 Isuzu UTE A-League Men’s season.
The 20-year-olds have extended their contracts into the 2022/23 Season after playing important roles this season, most notably in Victory’s lead up to the 2021 FFA Cup Final.
Melbourne Victory Director of Football, John Didulica, said he was pleased to see the progression of Brooks and Barnett.
“We’re pleased to secure both Lleyton and Jay for the next season,” Didulica said.
“Both Lleyton and Jay are continuing to develop as footballers since joining the Club and are taking some important steps under Tony Popovic and his coaching team.
“We feel we are building an exciting group of players who can both challenge for trophies in the moment, such as this weekend, and can also continue to grow with the club.”
Brooks and Barnett join Jake Brimmer as mid-season re-signings, in addition to Luka Prso who joined the Club during the January window.
