Melbourne Victory signs Monge and Siciliano to the A-League Men’s Squad.
Melbourne Victory is pleased to announce the signing of young central midfielder Fabian Monge and academy product and goalkeeper Christian Siciliano for the 2023/24 Isuzu UTE A-League season.
Monge (22) comes to Melbourne Victory from APIA Leichhardt where he played a leading role in their 2023 Premiership.
The Sydney-born midfielder was a former A-League Youth Player of the Year and has represented Australia in the U17, U20 and U23 squads.
Siciliano (20) has been the starting goalkeeper for the Club’s promotion-winning NPL team for the past two seasons after joining the Club’s academy program at the age of 16 from Hume City Football Club.
Melbourne Victory Director of Football, John Didulica, said he was thrilled to have Monge and Siciliano join the Club.
“Both Monge and Siciliano have performed impressively across the pre-season and they have earned their opportunity through hard work,” Didulica said.
“It’s exciting to add two new young players to the squad that we know can perform at a high standard when we need them to and should the opportunity present itself.
“Prior to his recent success with APIA Leichhardt, Monge was a stand-out young talent in the Y-League and we are confident we are getting a player with quality and pedigree and one who can contribute to the team.
“Siciliano has been a standout in our NPL side all season and played a huge role in our success this year.
“Christian has matured year-on-year and his consistent performances within the NPL mean he has earned an opportunity to graduate into the A-League Men’s Team”.
Monge and Siciliano join re-signing players Roderick Miranda, Leigh Broxham and the elevation of Franco Lino, Jordi Valadon and Joshua Inserra to the senior squad as well as the new signings of Daniel Arzani, Zinedine Machach and Adama Traore.
