Melbourne Victory is pleased to announce the signing of versatile defender Natalie Tathem for the 2022/23 Liberty A-League season.
The 26-year-old joins the Club for her second stint at Victory, spending the 2021/22 season with Brisbane Roar and making eight appearances in the A-League Women’s competition last campaign.
Tathem’s first stint with the Club was curtailed by an anterior cruciate ligament tear that ended a promising start to the season for her as the side went on to take out the first title in its back-to-back Championships.
Melbourne Victory Head Coach, Jeff Hopkins said he was pleased to have Tathem return to Victory.
“We’re thrilled to have Natalie back in Victory colours for the upcoming season,” Hopkins said.
“She’s a defender who can play across the back four and in the midfield as well and this versatility will be an incredible asset for us as we continue to build strength in every position.
It was a heartbreaking end to her first stint at the Club and we’re hoping her second stint will bring more success on the pitch, culminating in more silverware.”
Tathem is also excited to be linking up with Hopkins and the team once again.
“I can’t wait to get down to Melbourne and begin working towards what we all want to achieve this season, and that is another Championship,” Tathem said.
“Everyone at Melbourne Victory was so supportive of me during my last time at the Club and I’m motivated to repay the faith and help the team in every way I can.”
Tathem is the Club’s fourth new signing of the 2022/23 pre-season, joining Jessika Nash, Miranda Templeman and Gema Simon as well as the re-signings of Tiffany Eliadis, Casey Dumont and Claudia Bunge.
