Melbourne Victory is pleased to announce the signing of midfielder Nathan Konstandopoulos for the 2022/23 Isuzu UTE A-League season.
Konstandopoulos joins the Club from Adelaide United where he made 63 A-League Men’s appearances for the Reds, scoring seven times over two spells.
The 26-year-old is a two-time Australian Cup winner and worked through adversity over the past two seasons to return to football.
Melbourne Victory Head Coach, Tony Popovic said Konstandopoulos’ addition will add another dimension and great competition to the squad as it continues to build towards the start of the A-League Men’s campaign.
“We’re excited to welcome Nathan to the Club for the upcoming season,” Popovic said.
“He’s an energetic player with an ability to play a range of roles across the midfield. We know he will be an important addition to the team as we make our final preparations for the start of the A-League competition.”
Konstandopoulos was also thrilled to be heading to Melbourne Victory.
“This is an exciting opportunity for me to make the move to Melbourne and give it my all this season with Victory,” Konstandopoulos said.
The Club is an ambitious Club who wants to win every trophy in front of them and I want to be a part of that competitive environment. I’m looking forward to working with the boss, his coaching staff and the squad to achieve big things together this season.
Konstandopoulos is the Club’s ninth new signing of the 2022/23 pre-season, joining Nani, Tomi Juric, Paul Izzo, Enrique Lopez, George Timotheou, Noah Smith, Eli Adams and Ahmad Taleb.
Melbourne Victory can also confirm that Zaydan Bello and Birkan Kirdar have departed the Club prior to the closure of the pre-season transfer window.
We would like to thank Zaydan and Birkan for their contributions and wish them the best for the future.
