Melbourne Victory is pleased to announce that Hejaz Financial Services, Australia’s leading Islamic financial services firm, will be the official front-of-shirt partner of the Melbourne Victory Afghan Women’s Team (AWT).
Hejaz Financial Services will feature on the front of the home and away jerseys for the AWT, who currently compete in Football Victoria Women’s State League 4 West competition.
Melbourne Victory Managing Director, Caroline Carnegie said she was pleased to have the support of Hejaz Financial Services in one of football’s most incredible stories, and that the presentation of the team in their newly branded jerseys at half time of the Melbourne Victory v Manchester United friendly this coming Friday would be a highlight of the year.
“The Afghan Women’s Team have been an inspiration to not only everyone at Melbourne Victory, but those across the global football community,” Ms Carnegie said.
“To now have the support of Hejaz Financial Services and what they represent as a brand, supporting the team in all of their on-field and off-field endeavors, is a perfectly-aligned partnership and we are enormously proud of it,” she said.
“We also look forward to further strengthening the girls plight with the support of our other partners, and of course, with members, fans and supporters of the AWT through our virtual seating program, details of which are at awtfootball.com.”
Muzzammil Dhedhy, Chief Operating Officer at Hejaz Financial Services said the sponsorship represents the firm’s ethos of serving the Islamic community through charitable investments, education programs and its overall mission to ensure that people from all walks of life can prosper in Australia.
“Sport is such a core part of who we are as Australians and is a strong vehicle for newcomers to feel a part of our community and culture,” Mr Dhedhy said.
“The values of ‘mateship’ and ‘teamwork’ complement our beliefs to show resilience in the face of hardship. The Afghan Women’s Team are inspirational role models for our children—they have overcome many obstacles and are not letting anything get in the way of their dreams. We are proud to support their ongoing achievements,” he explained.
“At Hejaz, it is our mission to give back and contribute to creating a place where anyone can participate without compromising their religious or ethical beliefs.”
