Victory come into the contest hot off a rousing Melbourne Derby win where an opening half for the ages saw Victory lead 3-0 at half time before conceding in the second half.
Kisnorbo’s side was clinical in their Derby rout as goals from Nishan Velupillay, Ryan Teague and Nikos Vergos sealed the result as Victory head into Round three with four points from a possible six and two away matches to start the season.
Despite returning to the same venue this weekend, Victory will be the official nominated home side for the first time this season as they take on Macarthur, a side they have already faced at the venue this season.
Kisnorbo’s side will have their Australia Cup defeat fresh in their minds heading into this week’s contest as Victory look to write the wrongs from that contest.
The Bulls have had a rollercoaster start to the season with a thumping win against Perth Glory before a dominant performance against Newcastle saw them walk away in defeat last week.
Newcastle’s performance almost mirrored Macarthur’s ‘smash-and-grab’ performance in the Australia Cup final with the Bulls receiving a dose of their own medicine and with the formula working last time against Victory, it won’t be a surprise to see much of the same tactics from Mile Sterjovski’s side, a tactic that has been used by the Bulls multiple times against Victory at AAMI.
