Muscat: Complacency won’t be an issue

Melbourne Victory Head Coach Kevin Muscat is not letting complacency affect his side ahead of Saturday’s clash with Central Coast Mariners.

Victory heads to Geelong in good form having won four of its last five games, however, Muscat is refusing to get caught up in the hype.

Instead, he is focussed on extending Victory’s run of wins into the New Year.

“The past is well and truly forgotten about and anything we’ve done last week isn’t going to help us get a result tomorrow night,” Muscat said.

Victory signed Dino Djulbic and Terry Antonis during the week, and Muscat is not writing off their chances of selection, in particular Djulbic.

“He’s a fit boy, and he’s settled in really well. He’s been able to complete and do everything at training, so we’ve got no hesitation in putting him in.”

Antonis, who arrived from Europe less than a week ago, is less likely to feature but Muscat is looking forward to what he can offer in the future.

“He’s a good player, a good footballer, a smart footballer and I look forward to seeing him in action.”
