Melbourne Victory continues its NPL2 West season with a trip to Moreland City on Saturday.
Summary
Victory has suffered three straight losses, including last week’s narrow 1-0 defeat to Whittlesea Ranges at Epping Stadium.
It has six matches remaining this season, beginning with the trip to Campbell Reserve to face Moreland City in Round 23.
Victory again had its moments in attack against Whittlesea, but it was unable to make the most of its chances.
Left-back Aydin Mustedanagic, 18, and attacker Stefan Ristic, 18, had Victory’s best opportunities as it was again held goalless.
Victory is unbeaten in two of its past three away matches ahead of the trip to Moreland, which is fourth on the table.
The teams last met in March, with Moreland City claiming a hard-fought 2-1 win at Epping Stadium.

“I just think we need to get better in that front third of the team and be more clinical, more cutting edge which we talked about last week and obviously still continue the good things we’re doing to get to that point. And, be resolute in the way we defend in regards to understanding that we’re always at risk to possibly get hurt when we’ve got possession so we’ve just got to continually have the ability to, while in possession, be aware of if we lose the ball, where people can hurt us.”
