NPL preview: Whittlesea v Victory

Melbourne Victory will be the visitors at Epping Stadium this Saturday, as it takes on Whittlesea Ranges in Round 7 of the NPL West.

In Round 6, Victory prevailed in a nine-goal thriller against Ballarat City – winning 4-5 and extending its unbeaten run to five games.

A second-half hat-trick from Pierce Waring ensured all three points for Victory, who currently sit fifth on the ladder.

Meanwhile, Whittlesea Ranges occupy ninth spot and are without a win in their last three games.

In their last outing, Ranges suffered a 2-1 defeat at the hands of Altona Magic.

Victory and Whittlesea last met in May 2017, where the Ranges edged a 2-1 win, despite Victory taking the lead through Waring.

With only four points separating the two clubs at this early stage of the season, there is plenty to play for come 3pm on Saturday afternoon.
