Melbourne Victory hit Melbourne City for six in Round 20 of the Senol NPL Victoria Women.
The Girls in Blue were rampant, applying a full stop to a four-game losing streak by striking thrice in either half through six different scorers at the Home of the Matildas on Sunday afternoon.
Sharp left-footed efforts from Sienna Saveska and Ella O’Grady just three minutes apart put the hosts in command before the first-half’s midpoint, and Leyla Hussein added a third, heading in Jasmine Millar’s cross as the interval neared.
City pulled a goal back through Jami Marandola on the stroke of half-time, but any glimmer of hope this offered was shut down 10 minutes after the restart when Anika Dovaston received Hussein’s neat flick and finished calmly.
Poppy O’Keeffe was the beneficiary of the same supply chain to stroke in number five, and Sienna Techera arguably netted the pick of the bunch, cracking a volleyed finish into the roof of the goal.

Speaking to MelbourneVictory.com.au, A-League Women’s Head Coach, Jeff Hopkins, was delighted with the players’ bouncebackability showcased in Bundoora.
“I am really proud of the way this young side bounced back this week, putting last week’s defeat well and truly behind us and playing some really positive football to beat a competitive City side.
“There were lots of things I really liked about the game, especially the way that once we got on top of City we were relentless and kept pushing to the final whistle.”
