Thanks to LeasePlan-s Carn the Kids program, budding football player Josh Meacham today got to to kick a ball around with his beloved Melbourne Victory players at Very Special Kids House.

2013 Carn the Kids Ambassador, Melbourne Victory player Kosta Barbarouses plus two of his fellow Melbourne Victory teammates – Leigh Broxham and Jesse Makarounas – met Josh this afternoon.

Josh-s baby sister Alexis died when she was four months old from a genetic condition called trisomy 18. Josh and his family have received emotional support from Very Special Kids and have been involved in peer support activities such as Remembrance Day – which helps them to meet other bereaved families in a similar situation to theirs.

Josh, who loves his football, will also be one of two mascots who will lead the Victory out onto the pitch at the Carn the Kids Mega Match against Brisbane Roar this Friday, October 25.

LeasePlan-s Carn the Kids is a simple program that aims to give kids who may not otherwise have the opportunity, a chance to enjoy a fun day out. LeasePlan has been a community partner of Melbourne Victory for the past 6 seasons.

Friday night will see 300 kids and their carers from some of Australia-s most respected children-s agencies; Camp Quality, HeartKids, The Royal Children’s Hospital, The CREATE Foundation, Big Brothers Big Sisters, MacKillop Family Services, Mirabel and Variety and Very Special Kids cheer on Melbourne Victory.
