A crowd of more 40,000 fans were well behaved during the 0-0 draw between the two rivals, with only two people being evicted for minor public order offences.
Specialist Operations Superintendent Peter O-Neill said the crowd was excellent with a real family atmosphere.
“I have to say the crowd was fantastic with families and young people enjoying the game.
“There was a real atmosphere about the crowd here tonight, everyone was having a great time watching their team and just enjoying the night”, Superintendent O-Neill said.
