Polly Doran departs for Crystal Palace

Melbourne Victory can confirm fullback Polly Doran will head to English WSL2 side Crystal Palace for the 2022/23 season.

Doran was a stand-out in the Club’s back-to-back Championship campaigns, playing a vital role in Jeff Hopkins’ title defence during her three seasons at her hometown club, making 42 appearances.

The defender will re-join the Club for the 2023/24 season, signing a long-term contract until the end of the 2024/25 season.

Melbourne Victory Director of Football, John Didulica said this was a chance for Doran to test herself at an ambitious English club.

“Crystal Palace is a club with whom we have built a strong working relationship and we look forward to Polly taking advantage of that,” said Didulica.

“We’re pleased to be able to facilitate this move for Polly who has been one of the league’s most consistent fullbacks during her time in the A-League.

“This move is testament to Polly’s determination and ambition to reach the highest levels in world football.”

Melbourne Victory would like to wish Polly the best for this exciting opportunity and wish her the best of luck at Crystal Palace.
