Melbourne Victory’s first Chairman’s Function for season 2012/13 was a huge success, with almost 500 people filling the Limelight Room at Etihad Stadium on Friday night for the Melbourne Derby.

Melbourne Victory-s first Chairman-s Function for season 2012/13 was a huge success, with almost 500 people filling the Limelight Room at Etihad Stadium on Friday night for the Melbourne Derby.

The club welcomed a range of special guests who addressed the crowd, ahead of the Hyundai A-League season opener. Premier Ted Baillieu was among the dignitaries and spoke passionately about the importance of the Melbourne Derby on the Victorian sporting calendar and also praised Victory for hosting such a high-quality event.

Melbourne Victory Chairman Anthony Di Pietro, who also spoke on the night, said the high turnout and number of VIPs in attendance showed the Chairman-s Function continued to be an important match day tradition.

Mr Di Pietro praised the Club-s corporate partners for their contribution in making the event a success.
