Melbourne Victory returns to AAMI Park when it faces Wellington Phoenix in the Hyundai A-League on Sunday.
Summary
Victory is looking to bounce back after it suffered a 3-2 loss to Western United at Marvel Stadium in Round 4.
It has played three of its first four league games at home at Marvel Stadium, but is back at AAMI Park for the first time since August’s FFA Cup clash against the Newcastle Jets.
Victory gave up a 2-0 lead against Western United after Ola Toivonen and Kristijan Dobras scored in the opening seven minutes.
Dobras assisted Toivonen’s opener before the Swedish forward set up the Austrian, while Victory squandered second-half chances to score an equaliser.
Toivonen is already up to two goals and two assists in the opening four games of the campaign.
Victory is unbeaten in its past five meetings with Wellington, although three of those results have been draws.
The Phoenix are without a point through four matches this season, while Victory has collected four points in as many games.

What they said
“We lost the game, we’ve lost a few games at home and it’s not good enough for the standard that we want. It’s a fighting reaction, it’s to show the fans that we care and that we really do and it’s to go out and win a home game and win a game of football. Like we touched on before, competing and making sure we’re winning our battles. We scored a couple of great goals on the weekend and building on that and making sure we rectify some of the mistakes that we had.” – Victory stalwart Leigh Broxham.
