Some up-and-coming future stars got a special opportunity to learn from Melbourne Victory’s best this week, with NYL coach Darren Davies and assistant coach Kevin Muscat taking SEDA students through an in-depth training session.

SEDA delivers hands-on education for year 11 and 12 students, helping them connecting classroom to the real world. Through positive experiences, such as these training sessions and clinics, SEDA enables students to develop key life and employability skills.

Student Wilson Sugianto, who took part in the training session on Gosch’s Paddock, said the experience gave him a whole new insight into football.

“Darren Davies and Kevin Muscat are brilliant coaches and this was an amazing opportunity that we are given as being a part of the Melbourne Victory program,” Wilson said.

“They have superb knowledge and understanding of the game, which I believe were acquired from their years of experience. I will be going home today with new set of skills and knowledge which I hope I can polish and use in the future.”

Another student, Ryan Scott, said the training session helped them learn some new and important skills.

“We learnt some valuable techniques that are taught to the senior Victory players which will help us immensely in the future. A special mention and big thank you to Kevin and Darren for the time and effort they put into the session,” Ryan said.
