Melbourne Victory has named its squad for Friday night’s clash with Newcastle Jets at AAMI Park.
Tony Popovic’s side will see to important inclusions for Friday’s clash with over 300 matches of A-League experience coming into the team.
Captain Josh Brillante returns to the squad after serving his one-match ban from the Melbourne Derby. The midfield general is set to return to the starting side with the engine room looking more similar to what is has looked like over the past 12 months.
New signing Bruno Fornaroli has also been added to the extended side after signing this week. The Uruguayan-born Socceroo is available for selection with his status as an injury replacement player and could play a role in the Victory forward line on Friday night.
Despite not being named in the extended squad, Jason Geria still has the chance to play a role on Friday night after making a successful return from a hip injury. Geria will be put through his paces on Friday to determine if he will be available for the match.
