Melbourne Victory is pleased to announce Victoria University, Australia’s leading sports university, as a new Major Partner and Official University Partner of the club for the 2019/20 Hyundai A-League season.
The two organisations first aligned in 2017 via a strategic agreement, and have since successfully collaborated on research projects, joint staff appointments and professional development opportunities in the sports science, data analytics and performance space together with a range of community activities which has led to the formal strengthening of their partnership.
Melbourne Victory CEO, Trent Jacobs, was delighted to officially extend the club’s relationship with Victoria University beyond the original strategic agreement.
“We are delighted to be expanding our partnership with Victoria University for the upcoming season,” said Jacobs.
“More than anything, we’re proud to see this relationship further progress.
“The expansion highlights the success to-date in creating opportunities for VU students in a professional sporting environment, and shared intent to achieve more together.
“The next phase of the partnership sees Victoria University become a Major Partner of the Club, opening new and exciting opportunities to drive shared strategic initiatives, integrating across a range of Departments within our Club.”
Victoria University’s Vice Chancellor, Professor Peter Dawkins was thrilled to see the partnership reach new heights and believes it will continue to provide mutual benefits for both organisations.
“We are excited that this partnership with Melbourne Victory further builds VU’s strong reputation as an internationally renowned leading sport university with partnerships that range from grassroots to elite sport organisations.”
Victoria University is one of the only universities in Australia to offer both TAFE and higher education courses with a flexible approach to learning that is accessible to students in Melbourne’s west and beyond.
