It was the night of nights for the Victory Academy that saw Alex Lee and Luka Kolic take out the Junior and Senior Academy Victory Medal. Here’s how the night unfolded.
Last night the Victory Academy celebrated their player-of-the-year awards night after what was an outstanding season from every level of the Academy.
The U23s were promoted to the NPLVIC, the highest level of competition in Victoria, after being crowned VPL1 Champions. The U21s finished the season third while the U14s, U15s, U16s and U18s also won their respective league titles.
This is the first time in Victorian football history that one club has been crowned Champions across every Junior NPL competition.
Both the Junior Academy and Senior Academy were presented with four individual awards. The Leigh Broxham Award, the Archie Thompson Award, the Mitch Langerak Award and the Victory Medal.
The Leigh Broxham Award is awarded to the Junior and Senior Academy player who has consistently and continuously best demonstrated the Victory values through the 2024 season.
The Archie Thompson Award is awarded to the best attacking player in the Junior and Senior Academy.Â
The Mitch Langerak Award is presented to the Junior and Senior goalkeeper of the season.
The Victory Medal is the Club’s highest individual honour, presented to the player of the season. The recipient of the Victory Medal follows in the footsteps of the Club greats and has earned a place in our history.Â
The award is determined by coach’s vote with players earning votes each week for their gameplay, effort, and teamwork, and for displaying the Club’s values.Â
