Melbourne Victory’s next A-League match will be against Adelaide United at Coopers Stadium on Saturday, January 23.

Victory’s clash with Brisbane Roar originally scheduled for Sunday, January 10 was postponed in response to a COVID-19-related lockdown on Brisbane imposed by the Queensland Government.

The A-League has confirmed that match won’t be played this weekend.

To continue to build match fitness, Victory lined up against NPL Victoria side Hume City in a friendly on Wednesday evening at ABD Stadium.

The match ended 1-1, with Callum McManaman scoring Victory’s goal in the first half.

Robbie Kruse made his long-awaited return to the football pitch, playing 65 minutes and putting in a lively shift.

New centre back signing Ryan Shotton also made his first appearance in Victory colours, partnering Dylan Ryan in defence.

The match put valuable minutes into the legs of Victory’s squad and also gave Grant Brebner the opportunity to continue to fine-tune his tactics.
