Melbourne Victory is pleased to announce the signing of Matildas goalkeeper Teagan Micah for the remainder of the Westfield W-League 2019/20 season.
Micah joins Victory from the UCLA Bruins in the United States’ National Collegiate Athletics Association (NCAA) and was also recently called up to the Matildas squad for the 2019 FIFA Women’s World Cup in France.
During her first season in the NCAA, Micah kept nine clean sheets and was named Pac-12 Goalkeeper of the Week three times
Prior to starting her US College career in 2016, Micah represented Brisbane Roar and Western Sydney Wanderers in the W-League between 2013–2016 for five appearances.
Melbourne Victory Head Coach Jeff Hopkins was pleased to bring in another experienced goalkeeper to compliment Casey Dumont and Melissa Maizels.
“We’ve been talking to Teagan for a long time and she’ll come in and definitely add a bit of competition to our goalkeepers,” said Hopkins.
“It’s going to be interesting and good to see the goalkeeper sessions now.
“Obviously Casey is playing really well, and her form is really high, so I think this added competition will keep both of them on their toes.”
Micah is available for Victory’s Westfield W-League clash against Brisbane Roar at Epping Stadium on Saturday.
