Victory bound for NYL Glory at Lakeside Stadium

Melbourne Victory will look to put a disappointing Foxtel National Youth League away loss to Brisbane Roar aside when it hosts Perth Glory at Lakeside Stadium on Sunday.

Captain Joey Katebian scored his third goal of the season against Brisbane, though it counted for little as Victory was beaten 3-1.

Victory has faced two tough away trips to start the Foxtel National Youth League 2015/16 season and will be looking to notch up its first win against Glory on Sunday.

Goalkeeper Lucas Spinella says he can see plenty of positives from the way his younger teammates have started their Youth League careers, despite the slow start to the season.

“It was the first game for a lot of the young boys in the Youth League – they stepped up and look really, really comfortable,” Spinella said.

“I think that is a massive positive to take away.”

Although Victory is last in the five-team Conference A, a win over Glory will see it move above Perth and potentially as high as third on the table.

Glory has endured a mixed start to its campaign, losing 2-0 at home to Brisbane Roar in Round 1 before earning a 1-1 draw with Melbourne City.

With only eight games remaining this season, a win against Perth will be crucial as Victory plays in front of its home fans for the first time this season.

Entry to the match at Lakeside Stadium is free, with kick-off at 4.00pm.
