Melbourne Victory has moved on quickly from the disappointment of last week’s Melbourne Derby loss as it prepares for Saturday night’s clash with Adelaide United at Coopers Stadium.

The coaches and players reviewed the 4-1 loss to City on Monday morning and immediately moved on to preparing for Round 3, according to head coach Kevin Muscat.

“The week has been focussed on preparing for tomorrow night,” he said.

“We look forward to going across there and putting in a good performance that gives us an opportunity to bring three points back to Melbourne.

“We’ve got a clear frame of mind and we’re expecting a difficult game, as they always are.”

Victory and Adelaide are both searching for their first win of the Hyundai A-League season, with each recording a draw and a loss so far.

Despite last week’s loss, Victory heads to Adelaide confident it can recapture the form which saw it unbeaten over the pre-season.

“What’s important is we don’t lose any confidence, because it seems like everyone else has,” Muscat said.

“We won’t lose any confidence in ourselves. We know we’re a good team, we know we can perform well. Hopefully you’ll see that tomorrow night.”
