Melbourne Victory proudly partnered with WorkSafe Victoria, School Sport Victoria and Football Victoria to host the Teacher Professional Development Day this past Friday.
The course presented an opportunity for primary and secondary school teachers, and football ambassadors from across the state to gather at AAMI Park for an afternoon of upskilling and football coach training.
In addition to an interactive introduction to Football Federation Australia’s National Curriculum from Melbourne Victory and Football Victoria staff on hand, the participants also received a guest presentation from Melbourne Victory’s National Youth League and National Premier League coach, Gareth Naven.
Throughout the program teachers were presented with a practical range of coaching techniques, methods and activities that cater for players of all ages and abilities through skills and game training, which will translate into their own school sports curricula.
At the conclusion of the program those who completed the MiniRoos Certificate course received FFA coaching certification, while all participants were invited to attend Melbourne Victory’s Round 22 Hyundai A-League victory over Brisbane Roar.
On behalf of our program partners, Melbourne Victory would like to thank everyone who attended.
