Melbourne Victory’s Foxtel National Youth League side will be determined to put a Round 1 loss to Adelaide United behind it when it faces Brisbane Roar on Saturday.
A first-half brace from captain Joey Katebian wasn’t enough for Victory in its season opener, with United prevailing 4-2 last weekend.
Victory’s young side showed plenty of promise against the Reds, and will be looking to build on its performance against Brisbane at Cleveland Showgrounds.
Roar got its campaign off to the best of starts, running out 2-0 winners over Perth Glory at Ashfield Sports Club.
Nicholas D’Agostino scored both goals for Brisbane, and is someone Melbourne will need to keep quiet if they are to take home the three points.
A fast start to the Foxtel National Youth League is made all the more important by the introduction of a shortened season of ten rounds and finals.
A win against Roar will put Victory’s youth league campaign back on track before its first home game of the season against Perth Glory on November 22.
