Victory matches not to miss in 2026/27

Melbourne Victory’s calendar for the 2026/27 Isuzu UTE A-League has been confirmed, and the fixture is packed with mouthwatering clashes both in Victoria and on the road.

Giovanni Savarese’s A-League Men’s team, including an away Melbourne Derby, will play 14 times at AAMI Park during regular season competition.

From October through until May, the Club’s loyal members and fans will have the opportunity to soak up the atmosphere and enjoy the action live in Melbourne.

These are a selection of the matches not to miss.

Matchweek 2: Melbourne Victory v Melbourne City, Saturday, October 24, kick-off 7:40pm AEDT

Whether pitted together in finals football or locking horns with three precious points on the line, Victory’s clashes with Melbourne City are a showstopping spectacle – what better fixture to open up the home campaign?

And after two memorable wins for the Boys in Blue last term, when Matthew Grimaldi’s matchwinner shook the bones of AAMI Park, and Juan Mata’s magic wrote global headlines, a hat-trick of Melbourne Derby successes is one to get around.

Santos is joined by Juan Mata to celebrate his Melbourne Derby strike in February.

Matchweek 8: Melbourne Victory v Newcastle Jets, Saturday, December 12, kick-off 7:40pm AEDT

Despite breaching the Novocastrian’s backline four times last season, Victory could not get three points over the line, meaning there is a score to settle when the defending premiers travel down before Christmas.

Newcastle Jets’ emergence from an 18-year silverware slumber has awakened the Hunter, but with transfer window recruit Harrison Sawyer boasting a one-in-two record against them, and Charles Nduka having put a brace past them in April, it is high time to clip the Jets’ wings.

Matchweek 13: Melbourne Victory v Auckland FC, Friday, January 15, kick-off 7:40pm AEDT

Like a Melbourne coffee, this trans-Tasman rivalry has been brewed strong ever since Auckland FC were inducted into the A-Leagues in 2024, and even with long-time foe Steve Corica exiting stage right, expect no love to be lost.

Constituents at the pointy end of the last two seasons, there is plenty of evidence to suggest that both Victory and the Black Knights will be there again, so even five months out from the season’s end, this matchup may very well carry significance beyond the 90 minutes.

Jason Davidson meets supporters after 2025/26’s curtain-raiser against Auckland FC – his second debut for Melbourne Victory.

Matchweek 14: Melbourne Victory v Sydney FC, Tuesday, January 26, kick-off 5:00pm AEDT.

2026’s home Big Blue was an all-timer, let alone a season highlight, as Victory proved irresistible in the final third, plundering four second-half goals to crush the Cove’s hopes of any away day joy.

Santos and Keegan Jelacic were amongst the scorers in a pulsating public holiday encounter, after beloved violinist Evangeline Victoria fired up the crowd, and doubtless the atmosphere will be yet another humdinger at the first of two AAMI Park meetings in the first half of 2027.

Keegan Jelacic celebrates his pearler to put Melbourne Victory up 3-0 in January’s Big Blue.

Matchweek 25: Melbourne Victory v Adelaide United, Saturday, April 17, kick-off 7:40pm AEST

Under the black cloak of an Autumn night, the white white-line fever will be contagious, but history shows that the true Original Rivalry heroes keep their heads whilst all about are losing theirs.

Historically fuelled by state and civic pride, now the tank is filled to the brim by the legacy of grand final triumphs, especially the 6-0 pasting Victory handed the Reds in 2007’s showpiece. The bragging rights were split in 2025/26, but this clash is not built on half measures.

Melbourne DJs Orkestrated fire up the crowd before February’s Original Rivalry.

Matchweek 28: Melbourne Victory v Brisbane Roar, Sunday, May 9, 3:00pm AEST

Versus the Roar, it has been a little while between drinks for the Boys in Blue, so irrespective of the other campaign meetings and their outcomes, a recharge would be a welcome hydration break.

In the final breaths of the regular season, on ‘Super Sunday’, Victory will be putting their best foot forward for a finals dress rehearsal that could still carry significance for the ladder.
