Victory names squad for Adelaide clash

Melbourne Victory has added two players to an extended squad for Saturday night’s clash with Adelaide United at AAMI Park.

Tickets for the match are available here.

Fahid Ben Khalfallah and George Howard have been promoted to an extended squad, with two players to be omitted before kick-off.

Ben Khalfallah and Howard missed last week’s 3-0 win over Central Coast Mariners, which reduced the gap between second-placed Victory and leaders Sydney FC to eight points.

Victory is aiming for a clean sweep of Adelaide this season, having already beaten the Reds twice away from home in this campaign.

The last time Victory enjoyed a longer streak against United was a 10-game winning run from 2008 to 2010.

Victory is also looking to keep three consecutive clean sheets for the first time since October 2015, a run that coincidentally included a 0-0 draw with Adelaide.

The Reds, winless in their past nine games away from home, are rooted to the bottom of the Hyundai A-League ladder after 20 rounds.

Last season’s Champions also suffered a 3-0 loss to Gamba Osaka to open their 2017 AFC Champions League campaign earlier this week.

Tickets for Saturday night’s match are available here.
