The Ninja A-League All Stars squad to face Chelsea next month will feature three Melbourne Victory players.
Victory will be represented by the defensive duo of Captain, Kayla Morrison, and Claudia Bunge, as well as goalkeeper Courtney Newbon, when the best of the Women’s competition face the record eight-time Women’s Super League Champions on Wednesday, August 12, kick-off 7:45pm AEST, at Allianz Stadium in Sydney.
The All-Stars’ second appearance, after facing Arsenal in 2024, will be led by Victory’s A-League Women’s Head Coach, Jeff Hopkins, as confirmed earlier this year.
It will also be Morrison’s second outing for the team, following a 2025/26 season where the two-time championship-winning defender became the Club’s first A-League Women’s centurion.
Her omnipresent centre-back partner Bunge, capped 46 times by New Zealand, and A-League Women’s Goalkeeper of the Year, Newbon, complete the Victory contingent.
Melbourne Victory Director of Football, John Didulica, commented:
“The Club would like to congratulate Claudia, Courtney and Kayla for being chosen to represent both Melbourne Victory and the Ninja A-League competition against Chelsea next month.
“Their selections are very well deserved, and we all look forward to seeing them excel as they do for Victory against one of the world’s strongest club sides.
“Good luck to each of them and, of course, our A-League Women’s Head Coach, Jeff Hopkins, who will be leading the team in Sydney.”
