Melbourne Victory is proud to partner with the Melbourne Chinese Soccer Association (MCSA) to stage the sixth annual U-NITE Cup.
The tournament brings together 20 teams from diverse communities, with participants representing Thailand, Australia, Iran, Afghanistan, Vietnam, Mauritius, China, Korea, Japan and Zimbabwe among others.
Preliminary group stage and knockout matches were held at Darebin International Sports Centre in early November and made for some outstanding and competitive football.
Ultimately, Australia Youth and Timor Leste survived the group stage, quarter and semi-finals to book a date in the 2018 U-NITE Cup Final.
The final will be a special occasion for those involved, taking place as a curtain raiser to Melbourne Victory’s Australia Day blockbuster against Sydney FC at AAMI Park.
In the perfect conclusion to a fantastic community initiative that highlights Victoria’s cultural diversity, the two lucky teams will have the thrill of playing on one of football’s marquee days before a sell-out crowd.
Kick-off for the tournament decider will be at 5:00pm.
